More updates: There are two candidates from Aurora, Sheryl Rose Guerrero from Baler and Athena Mae D. Imperial from Casiguran, however there were infos that Ms. Imperial appeared at Unang Hirit this morning sporting a Nueva Ecija sash. We’re still confirming.
Well, it was confirmed that Ms. Imperial is a candidate from Aurora. She didn’t wear a Nueva Ecija sash.

There was a sabutan gown design competition during the media presentation, and Sheryl Rose Guerrero of Aurora won the award for wearing the best designed sabutan attire (read the comments, the award she won was explained) . Cong. Sonny angara and Gov. Bellaflor Angara-Castillo presented the award. Sheryl or She-She is a Certified Public Accountant.

Update: In keeping with Batangbaler’s tradition of integrity (naks!) we would like to correct that Ms. Sheryl Rose Guerrero, did not win the Best in Sabutan Gown award during the press presentation of the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2009 at the Shangri-La Hotel Last July 29. What was given to her was the Aurora Beauty Award, which, despite of its name is not exclusive for the candidates from Aurora. It’s just a coincidence that she won it. Let’s be clear about that. The winner of the sabutan attire competition will be announced during the coronation night on August 9.

I would just like to clarify Ms. Sheryl Rose Guerrero did not win the said title above “best designed sabutan attire”. The special award was “Aurora Province Beauty Award” there were few judges and some of them were beauty queens, and they voted on that award not merely Aurora who chose that award. It was just named after our province because it is the who host the pageant. She was also given a necklace from WORLD CHARMS together with sash. Anyway, in behalf of my sister please do support her if there will be online voting at opbm.com. please?please? Thank You!God bless! Mabuhay Baler!Mabuhay Aurora!

  2. ara says:

“however there were infos that Ms. Imperial appeared at Unang Hirit this morning sporting a Nueva Ecija sash”

well, sana kasi eh sinusuportahan ng aurorans si Athena Mae. she’s being sabotaged by the aurorans themselves. they’re all supporting Sheryl Rose. be fair. i’m hearing a lot of negative things about the coordinators of the pageant, how they treat Athena. tsk! she’s heck pretty kasi. she has the edge. that’s why everyone’s threatened.

  12. edsel says:

Ms. Anna you cannot blame them for supporting Ms. Sheryl Guerrero because she grew up here in Baler, Aurora. And i think it’s not the province itself but only the town of Baler who’s merely supporting her. So please stop giving negative comments about her. It’s not good also and not fair!! Don’t you know the site that you logged in? it’s batangbaler!!!If you need support you can ask from other towns and especially in Casiguran. It’s a pride and honor of our hometown to have Sheryl Rose Guerrero as an official candidate.

  17. Greetings from British Columbia, Canada!!!
What’s important is the beauty in the inside and its intelligence. These women maybe pretty on the outside, but may have a heart of a solid rock. You know, mayabang, maarti, self centered, etc. We want the winner in this pageant to present our country with pride, not bearing only on its beauty.

#9, Miss Jelyssa Madrid , (British Columbia, Canada) has a very strong character in itself. She’s young, beautiful, very talented, smart, and has a heart of gold. Let’s all cheer and vote for Jel!!! As from all of us Filipino British Columbians, we believe Jelyssa has the overall quality of a true Winner… Good Luck to you, Jel… We love you…

http://www.philippinerevolution.net/ndf/allied.shtml, please see this website and you will see the NDF under the CPP/NPA, at mamamangha ka na pati ang simbahan ay pinapasukan na rin nila, http://www.philippinerevolution.net/cgi-bin/ab/text.pl?issue=20031221;lang=eng;article=06, Christians for National Liberation
    Gains strength, advances

Revolutionaries in the church sector successfully held the seventh congress of Christians for National Liberation (CNL) this November. CNL is a national organization of church people from various Christian sects and denominations. It represents the patriotic and revolutionary strata in the church sector.

The congress elected Fr. Servando Popolus, a Catholic priest, as the new chairperson.

In almost three decades characterized by various twists and turns in the revolutionary struggle, CNL persevered and took a steadfast stand to advance the national-democratic revolution. It continues to play an oustanding and highly respected role as one of the allied organizations within the National Democratic Front (NDF). It has proven the important and effective role of revolutionary Christians in the national united front, in mobilizing the broad masses and in the general advance of the revolution.
