City of San Fernando, Pampanga (12 September) — Dipaculao Police Station in the province of Aurora was chosen as the “Most Citizen-Friendly Police Station” for 2006 in the recently concluded search in Region III.
Police Chief Insp. Gregorio Q. Buencamino, chief of police of Dipaculao received P15,000, a plaque of appreciation and a computer set in behalf of the police station.

Rillo; Marilao police station in Bulacan, P/Supt. Pedro A. Talosig, Jr.; Cabiao police station in Nueva Ecija, P/Supt Elsa F. Miranda; Magalang police station in Pampanga, P/Supt. Elvis B. Diaz; Paniqui police station in Tarlac, P/CInsp. Joyce Patrick B. Sangalang; Sta.Cruz police station in Zambales, P/Supt. Roade P. Tombaga; police station III in Angeles City, Pampanga, P/CInsp Moises O. Villaceran, Jr; and police station II in Olongapo City, Zambales, P/SInsp. Cesar B. Cabiling.
The provincial winners received P5,000 each, a plaque of appreciation and a computer set donated by Gov. Tomas Joson III of Nueva Ecija and chair of the Regional Peace and Order Council (RPOC). The chiefs of police and the provincial directors also received plaques of appreciation .
Proper recognition should also be given to the policemen because they are the guardians of our lives and properties, Joson said during the RPOC regular meeting cum awarding ceremony for the winners held recently at the Holiday Inn, Clark Special Economic Zone.
Director Isidro D. Siriban of the National Police Commission (NAPOLCOM) in the region said the search aims to boost the morale of the policeman. Now on its sixth year, it has drawn positive reaction from among civilians, local government units and non-government organizations.
Siriban revealed the criteria for the annual search and these are relationship to the community, 30 %; service rendered beyond the call of duty, 30 %; involvement in the community, 25 %; and concern for the environment, 15 %.
The awarding ceremony for the search was led by Joson, assisted by Siriban and Police Chief Supt. Ismael D. Rafanan, director of the Philippine National Police in Region III. (PIA-Pampanga)
